Witness the Fitness – Gym Makeup Tips For 2017.


It’s that time of the year when we all, well most of us anyway, are announcing our good intentions for the year to come. Many of us, I suspect, have made our resolutions for the new year on the theme of getting fit. As red-cheeked, clammy-palmed and sweaty-browed as this will inevitably make  us, there’s lots you can do with your makeup to make sure you look good when you step out onto the street for that run, or through the doors of the gym you’ve been neglecting to visit for so long.


Your make up can make a huge difference as most of us battle to make our New Year’s resolutions last past the first few weeks of January. The feel-good factor of looking your best, along with the confidence this brings, will make you more likely to stick to your New Year’s fitness regime (and dare I say; possibly even enjoy it!). There are plenty of products that will last through the most rigorous of work-outs and keep you looking at the top of your game as well as looking after your skin at the same time – here I’ve called out a few that are tried and tested to get you well on your way…


Stay hydrated.


Make sure you moisturise well as your skin will become dehydrated during your workout. Opt for a tinted moisturiser such as Espa Tinted Moisturiser, rather than an oil based foundation. Products with an oil base won’t let your skin breathe, and with all the hard work you’ll be doing, your skin will need oxygen in order to avoid those unwanted spots!

There are a range of products on the market at the moment that are robust enough to last the course. Below is a shortlist of products I’ve used and strongly recommend:


Stila cream blush –  a light blusher is perfect for giving you a hint of colour. Remember you don’t want to go over board when boosting your skin tone for a work out, as you will go a natural pink shade while exerting yourself.


Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage – if you need it, concealer won’t budge during even the most optimistic of exercise programmes that your fitness instructor may throw at you.


Waterproof mascara – although a there’s a fair few on the market, you can’t go wrong with Maybelline’s Colossal Go Extreme Waterproof.    


Now you’re ready and prepared for even the most intimidating of new year get-fit scenarios, so it doesn’t matter who you bump into!
